With the growth of population and the expansion of human activities in rural areas, the volume of waste generated in household, agricultural, livestock, and service sectors has increased significantly, so that this issue has becomeinto one of the major environmental and the public health challenges in developing countries, including Iran. The present study aimed to examine the effects of different dimensions of waste management on public health among rural residents in the Qaemabad Rural District of Nimruz County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, using a descriptive-analytical approach with a field-based methodology. The statistical population included345 household heads from 13 villages. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the Friedman test and Pearson correlation coefficient in SPSS software. The results revealed that the economic dimension of waste management, with an average score of 4.41, was considered favorable by the respondents. In contrast, the social (2.97), environmental (2.96), managerial (2.63), and technical–instrumental (1.97) dimensions were in a weaker condition. Moreover, the Pearson correlation coefficient indicated no statistically significant relationship between waste management and public health. These findings emphasize the need to revise implementation policies, strengthening technical and sanitary infrastructures, enhancing management systems, and promoting community participation to improve the performance of waste management and promote public healthin rural areas.
